Hog Island Fig Candle - Eastern Shore Holiday Collection

Ask any Eastern Shore resident about the Hog Island Fig and their eyes will most likely light up. This particular fig variety is one of a handful of fruits & vegetables that tells the story of our seaside history.... and tastes absolutely delicious! In 1672, British colonists planted fig clippings brought from Europe on Hog Island. Although human residents left the island in the 1930s, Hog Island Fig trees serve as a living remnant of a bygone era and can be found in the backyards of many homes on the Eastern Shore.

This candle will fill your home with the soft notes of fresh fig and green leaves perfect for holiday gatherings. Each candle is hand poured for us by a local, woman-owned candle shop and is made of soy and coconut wax and then topped with a sprinkle of Barrier Islands Salt to bring a piece of the islands to your home. Each one is hand packed in a white gift box and tied with ribbon or twine.
